10 Things

1. I'm thinking about getting into photography. Maybe. I'm surrounded by great photographers, and that's part of the reason I've never committed personally to the art-form. But the more I think about it - the more I think I would really dig it. All of that on top of the the fact that Canon is releasing the new 5D MII - which is the first SLR camera capable of shooting 1080p HD footage. Mark my words, soon the worlds of cinematography and photography will morph together as one. Soon. Anyway, all that to say I'm considering it.

2. Reading a book: The Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius. This is my kind of book, so far. I have a sneaking hunch that it's going to end tragically, but so far so good.

3. I am no longer in the DVD market. I will never buy another DVD - ever. No matter the price. I bought my last DVD this week, at a good price I might add.

4. It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia is the best show on TV. Watch it. Which brings me to my next point.

5. TV's for losers - HULU.com all the way baby.

6. STEVE is in full effect now. He's just over 6 month's old weighing in at a little under 50 pounds. He has more energy than a class full of 3rd graders hyped up on pixie sticks. He can sit, lay-down, heal, stay, and roll-over on command. We're still working on fetch, and speak. Next on the list of things to learn: get me a drink, and bang (play dead).

7. I hope Thanksgiving doesn't get snubbed by Christmas this year. Greedy commercialism is trying to bump Thanksgiving off of the "important holiday" list.

8. The election is over. We just haven't voted yet. I am however looking forward to voting - feels good. Which brings me to my next point.

9. I might be buying some guns in the near future. Not cause I'm one of those guys who loves being surrounded by deadly weapons, but because there are a few guns I've wanted for some time now, and I want to make sure I have the right to buy them when I do go to buy them.

10. My own conceived democratic dilemma that is weighing on my vote.
Big government is bad. I believe this. I do. The bigger the government gets the less like a true democracy we become. Plus taxes suck.
but
The general public is stupid and/or greedy therefore they need a government to either help them or regulate them. The bigger the government - the more help and regulations stupid/greedy people get. This way we the innocent/smart people don't get screwed.

I'm thinking about buying guns as well, except that I'll be doing it because I'm growing more and more paranoid that this country will be under martial law within the next few years and a new revolution will form. I know I sound totally crazy but I'm honestly terrified of what the future holds.

Indeed, I mark your words on cinematography and photo. My wife, while attending the badass school she went to, took an entire class on where photography is heading. HD video is where it's at. It makes sense. Why shoot it frame by frame when you don't have to? Artists cringe at the thought of it...commercial photogs are waiting with baited breath.
